THE COAST STAR SEA GIRT —
The Quincy Lee Foundation held its 11th Annual Henry Wright’s Heart/ Quincy Lee benefit on Sept. 9 with a packed house at The Parker House to support childhood cancer research. Lisa Lee, the founder of the Quincy Lee Foundation, said she was thrilled with this year's record-breaking attendance and the generosity of the 17 sponsors. "It’s truly a labor of love with family and friends, along with this wonderful community who help make the benefit a success," said Ms. Lee. "I am filled with gratitude by all the support." She also said she was grateful for The Parker House owners and staff, and the many local businesses who donated to the gift basket raffle and silent auction. All of the benefit's proceeds go directly to the Quincy Lee Endowed Research Fellowship at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, providing research specializing in children’s cancers. According to Lee, this is vitally important, “as less than 4 % of all cancer funding goes to pediatric cancer research.” “I love the annual benefit because it reminds me of how fortunate my family is to be surrounded by such caring people," said Ms. Lee.
The benefit was created after Parker House owner Frank Matthew learned that Ms. Lee, who is his niece, had lost her 6-year-old daughter Quincy to cancer in 2004, he decided to host a benefit to help Quincy’s wish come true so that “all kids with cancer could be all better," and to honor his partner, Henry Wright who also passed away the same year.
The Quincy Lee Foundation is a 501[c][3] nonprofit, dedicated to supporting childhood cancer research. In August 2016, the Quincy Lee Endowed Fellowship in Pediatric Oncology at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital was created. It provides, in perpetuity, funding for a research oncologist specializing in children’s cancers, the release states. Since its creation, the foundation has raised over $500,000 with a goal of $1 million to fully endow the fellowship. "After Quincy died from cancer at 6 years of age, our world was forever changed," said Ms. Lee. "Establishing the foundation gave us something positive to focus on after the horrible tragedy of losing our daughter and allows us to help 'all kids with cancer'…just what Quincy wanted."
Guests were treated to cuisines from 17 shore restaurants and bars all around The Parker House porch. Bar Anticipation, Boathouse Bar and Grill, Brandl, The Column’s, Cravings, Cross & Orange, Four Winds, Fratello’s, Green Planet Coffee, Joe’s Surf Shack, Langosta Lounge, McGillicuddy’s, Mossuto’s Market, The Parker House, Reef and Barrel, Smiths of Philadelphia and St. Stephen’s Green Publick House all participated. "Delicious seafood, pasta and other specialties, along with yummy desserts and unique libations, made it an enjoyable and tasty night for all who came out," said Ms. Lee.
Ms. Lee also asks attendees to mark their calendars for the 12th annual benefit on September 14, 2020.

SEA GIRT — Rainy weather did not deter the large crowd that gathered at The Parker House on Monday, Sept. 10 for the 10th Annual Quincy Lee Foundation [QLF] Benefit for pediatric cancer research.
Lisa Lee, founder of the QLF, said she had been concerned the previous weekend that the inclimate weather would keep people at home. She was, however, happily surprised when over 320 tickets were sold at a packed Parker House with friends and family who have been attending the event for the past 10 years.
The 10th Annual QLF Benefit brought in $40,000, which brings the total that the QLF has raised over the past 10 years close to $500,000. 100 percent of all the proceeds go directly to the Quincy Lee Endowed Research Fellowship at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
The fellowship, when fully funded, provides in perpetuity, a research oncologist specializing in children’s cancers. According to Ms. Lee, this is very important, “as less than four percent of all cancer funding goes to pediatric cancer research.”
Guests were treated to signature dishes from 15 of the shore’s best restaurants and bars as they made their way around the Parker House porch.
Bar Anticipation, Boathouse Bar and Grill, Brandl, The Cabin, The Column’s, Four Winds, Fratello’s, Green Planet Coffee, Langosta Lounge, The Macaroon Shop, McGillicuddy's, Mossuto’s Market, The Parker House, Smiths of Philadelphia and St. Stephen’s Green Publick House, wowed and savored the crowd. Delicious seafood, pasta and other specialties as well as desserts and unique drinks made it a delectable night for all attendees.
Of the QLF Benefit, Ms. Lee said, “It’s truly a labor of love with family and friends who help make the benefit a success! Some are local and some drive in from neighboring states or fly across the country to lend a hand.”
“The Parker House owners, Frank Matthews, Michael Wright, Shane Matthews, manager Tony Sofia and The Parker House staff, along with liquor distributors, Shore Points and Page Ritchie, and the many local businesses, who so graciously donate year after year for the gift basket raffle and silent auction, make the event run very smoothly.”
“This year we had so many prizes that it seemed as if everyone knew at least one person in their group who won a raffle! Another noteworthy act of generosity is that The Parker House staff donated back all their tips from the night to the Foundation – such big heartedness!”
Ms. Lee went on to say, “I love the Annual QLF Benefit because it reminds me of how lucky my family is to have such wonderful support. After Quincy died from cancer at 6 years of age, our world was forever changed. Establishing the foundation gave us something positive to focus on after the horrible tragedy of losing our daughter. It allows us to help ‘all kids with cancer’… just what Quincy had wanted. We feel truly blessed by this wonderful shore community!”
The 11th Annual Quincy Lee Foundation Benefit at The Parker House is already scheduled for Monday, Sept. 9, 2019.
“I love the annual QLF Benefit because it reminds me of how lucky my family is to have such wonderful support.”

The Safari Spring Fling was a wonderful day of fun, friendship and philanthropy!  Everyone  embraced the Safari theme, with ladies wearing leopard prints, birds of the jungle costumes and  traditional safari attire.  The tennis professionals, Marc, Nino, Sue, Sam, AC, and Zak made sure everyone had a great time on the courts playing either doubles matches or tennis games.  Delicious food for both breakfast and lunch along with an open bar kept everyone in high spirits.  In between the tennis activities, guests purchased raffle tickets to win one of the more than 20 baskets that were generously donated from the RHTC Community and local businesses.  Silent auction items were also available for bidding with lots of interest in spa baskets.  This year we even had a live auction on an incredible package filled with spa treatments and restaurant gift cards that that was valued over $1000.  The event was an amazing success. We raised over $13,000.…perhaps the most ever for the RH Ladies Tennis Event!  And every dollar raised goes directly into the Quincy Lee Endowed Fellowship Fund in Pediatric Oncology at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.  A big thank you to everyone who participated and the RHCC Staff!!!
