Join us for a fun night of music and dancing at the Jersey Shore with a donation to the QLF instead of a cover charge! The fantastic and entertaining Bobby Bandiera will play the music you want to hear! Don't miss out on a fun night....hope to see you there! Lisa Lee and Becky Higbee Sumner prepare for the annual holiday party the QLF hosts by putting together gift bags filled with comfort items that families need during their hospital stays with their child. "These bags really brighten the day for the families and let them know that they have support," said Becky, a Child Life Specialist, and Coordinator of The Center for Families at UCSF-MB. Claire Horn, Annelise Back and Kathryn Powell were busy bakers after school and on weekends, making holiday cookies to sell at the Annual QLF Holiday Boutique in the Safeway Shopping Plaza in Alamo. No one could resist the cute cookies or the cute girls! In addition to the yummy treats the girls provided, shoppers were treated to a vast array of vendors selling designer clothing, handbags and accessories, jewelry, and kitchen and food products. Despite rain and wind earlier in the day, many turned out to support the Foundation. Thank you to all who participated in making it a great day of fundraising for the QLF! Jane Reid's Stella and Dot, Donna Motta's Worth Clothing, "The" Cashmere Sale of the East Bay, CC Kelly Accessories, Ann Ziebarth's The Pampered Chef, Deb Cassidy's Lively Linens, Ellen Giagiari's Giagiari Bros., Suzannes' Jams and Jellies, Susie Marie's Gluten Free Treats, and Mariana Pryhuber's Lattice and Ivy. Over 20 restaurants returned to serve their signature dishes on The Parker House porch. Guests enjoyed complimentary libations, while bidding on fabulous raffle and auction items. The restaurants this year included: The Parker House Raw Bar, The Column's, The Boathouse, Brandl, The Cabin, Edgar's Pub, Four Winds, Freedman's Bakery, Green Planet Coffee, Langusta Lounge, 507 Main, Mcgillicuddy's, Mossuto's Market, Pastaio, 709 Point Beach, and Smith's in Philadelphia!
Each year we are astounded by the generosity of our guests and hosts, but this year truly amazed us. For 5 years in a row, the hard working gals and guys of The Parker House have always donated their tips in addition to working the benefit. This year they went above and beyond and were the lucky winners of the 50/50 raffle, as they all went in together on tickets. With no hesitation, once they found out they had won, they proceeded to donate their winnings to the QLF. The above picture shows the incredible staff with owner Frank Matthews and manager Tony Sofia. A big grateful thank you to all the staff at The Parker House! |
