Donation made to the Quincy Lee Endowed Fellowship!
We are excited to share that last month we made an addition of $200,000 to Quincy’s Fellowship at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. This donation brings us to a total of $500,000 contributed thus far, and officially marks the half-way point to our $1,000,000 ultimate goal!
When we reach that goal, a Research Fellow (doctor) in Pediatric Oncology at UCSF will be fully funded in perpetuity in Quincy’s name to find new treatments and cures for children with cancer. Yay to all who have helped us on this journey!

The Quincy Lee Endowed Fellowship is Established!
In January 2016, the Quincy Lee Foundation officially established the Quincy Lee Endowed Fellowship Fund in Pediatric Oncology at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital by making an initial contribution of $300,000. This donation would not have been possible without all of your great support on both the East Coast and the West Coast! Because of your wonderful generosity, we are steadily progressing toward our ultimate goal of funding a full Chancellor’s Endowed Fellowship to promote childhood cancer research and treatment in perpetuity.
Our motivation to fulfill Quincy’s wish is driven by the knowledge that only 4% of federal cancer research funding is dedicated to childhood cancers. It is the leading cause of death by disease for children in the United States. If one were to compare the amount of years of life that are taken from children because of cancer, the enormity of that loss is tragic, making the inadequacy of pediatric cancer funding something that needs to be addressed with urgency. This meagerness in financing makes us all the more dedicated to fully funding a "Chancellor" Fellowship so that our scientists can improve treatments and find cures to add more birthdays to the lives of kids with cancer!

Meet UCSF Research & Clinical Doctor Amit Sabnis
Amit Sabnis, M.D. (adjunct asst. Professor)
Amit is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology who is completing a post-doctoral fellowship in the Bivona Lab. His research relies on patient-derived models to identify and pre-clinically validate new therapeutic targets for high-risk pediatric sarcomas, in particular fusion-positive rhabdomyosarcoma. His collaboration with other laboratories at UCSF has led to an in depth exploration of the chaperone and proteostasis networks of cancer cells. In addition to his lab work, Amit sees patients at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco, where he is a member of the Early Phase Clinical Trials group.
